1. Andaaz Apna Apna (1994)

The only film in which we saw two biggest superstars of Indian Cinema together on-screen ridiculing each other. The amazing chemistry of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan was not enough to bring the audience of the 1990s. Today, it is considered one of the most comic movies of all time and every character is to be credited for that.

2. Mera Naam Joker (1970)

Mera Naam Joker is a cinematographic monument which took 6 years for Raj Kapoor and an investment of his personal fortune to helm it. With 255 minutes, this is one of the longest Indian movies with two intermissions. Raj Kapoor plays a clown which masks his feelings under a painted face and trust me, he will make you weep. This beautiful melancholic saga with songs like Jeena Yahaan Marna Yahaan was a catastrophic disaster. But like it’s said, what is beautiful will always remain so.

3. Swades (2004)

This movie will make you go numb once you have watched the film. Based on the true-life story of an NRI man who returns to his mainland and discovers that his village is a mess. He decides to leave a privileged job and make his village a better place. This is one of Shah Rukh Khan’s best works which is accompanied by amazing music of AR Rahman. It was a major flop when it released but it got critical acclaim.

4. Lakshya (2004)

You might not believe but this coming-of-age tale directed by Farhan Akhtar was a flop. The movie weaved romance and patriotism without being overly preachy or melodramatic. Not just it, the movie is also a final destination for those who seek inspiration. The movie feels so real and youth will always relate to it. That is the reason it is called a Cult today.

5. Agneepath (1990)

The story of the original Agneepath was inspired by a poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan. This movie showed the experimental voice of Amitabh Bachchan. The movie didn’t do well on the box-office when released but when Big B got National Award for portraying Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, people started looking at the film in a different light. It was remade with Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.
