Use Of Phones Banned In Kedarnath Temple After Youtuber Proposed Her Partner

BKTC, which manages the Temple, strictly banned the use of mobile phones, videography and photography after a youtuber proposed her boyfriend at Kedarnath temple

Authorities banned the use of phones at Kedarnath Temple after a Youtuber proposed her partner in Temple and made a video of it


The authority of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), which is responsible for controlling the famous Shri Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand, strictly banned  the use of mobile phones inside the temple property. These rules come after a YouTuber, Vishakha Fulsnunge, filmed a video of her proposing to her boyfriend outside the Kedarnath temple.

Officials said that no one is allowed to enter the temple with mobile phones and videography and photography are strictly banned in the temple premises and everyone is under the surveillance of the CCTV camera. 

Ajay Ajendra, the president of BKTC, said that devotees have also been urged to dress decently. In the past, some devotees were caught filming and taking photos improperly  at the innermost area of the temple . Officials also highlighted that  legal action will be taken against the devotees who break the  orders.

Authorities of Badrinath Temple have not received any complaint of violation of orders by devotees yet, so the ban of mobile phones was not imposed there. Committee of the Temple feel that making of such clips and videos within the temple area has a baneful impact on the religious holiness of the site. They requested the local police to take strict action against those who break the laws and behave indecently at the temple and its adjoining areas.
