Up Shopkeeper Shot Dead Just Because of Rs 10 Dispute

A shopkeeper in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh named Mahesh Chand Jatav (dalit) was shot dead over a rs 10 dispute with a customer named Gulfaam (Gulla banjara). 

UP Shopkeeper shot dead over Rs 10 dispute with his customer while sleeping outside his shop in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh.


 A shopkeeper in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh named Mahesh Chand Jatav (dalit) was shot dead over a rs 10 dispute with a customer named Gulfaam (Gulla banjara). 

Mahesh was sleeping outside his shop when Gulfaam came at night and shot him in the head because of the dispute.

 After questioning the accused (Gulfaam) was arrested by the police on June 27 Tuesday.

 The additional superintendent of UP police Rajesh Kumar said Mahesh used to sell petrol in his shop alongwith other items. Gulfaam told police that some days before the incident Gulfaam had purchased petrol from Mahesh and after leaving his shop and on reaching towards his destination Gulfaam noticed a difference of Rs 10 in the transaction he had done with Mahesh. Then he went back to his shop and told Mahesh about the difference and asked him to adjust the balance amount of 10 rupees which Mahesh denied, that resulted in an argument between them. Mahesh Chand also threatened Gulfaam.

After all this dispute and getting threatened by Mahesh, Gulfaam decided to take revenge from him and shot him in head on the night of June 12.

Our take: We are humans not animals that we kill someone for something. Nowadays killings are happening over small disputes and issues which is not fair. We should try to resolve our issues and disputes first, if it’s not getting resolved then we can take the help of the law.
