Though some of them have already started receiving the blue ticks again, some are still left to get the verified status.

So, how can you get a ‘Blue Tick’ now?

To get a Blue Tick, you can sign up for Twitter Blue and pay the subscription amount. The account must meet certain criteria, such as having a complete name and profile picture, being an active user, having a confirmed phone number, and the account must be older than 30 days upon subscription.

What are the charges for Twitter Blue in India?

The monthly charges are around Rs. 650 per month in India and Rs. 6800 annually. Other than individuals, organizations can also get a Blue Tick through this medium.

Why was this step taken?

According to Musk, the revenues have drastically gone down for Twitter. A few months ago, he had also tweeted about how he had saved Twitter from bankruptcy. In order to generate more revenue for the microblogging website, he started Twitter Blue, for which people will have to pay if they want the ‘verified status’. Earlier, Musk had also talked about the corruption in this legacy status and how he plans to change it. He is also working towards making Twitter a platform for creators to monetize. Sharing ad revenues and helping creators earn a living are also in the works.
