Pralhad Joshi held Congress responsible for Population Hike!

In a bizarre comment on Power Cut, Pralhad Joshi held Congress responsible for the Population hike

In Karnataka, during the addressal of BJP`s Vijay Sankalpa Yatra, Pralhad Joshi held Congress responsible for the Population hikes. Taking a jibe at Congress he said that the Power Outage under Congress led to the rise in Population.

Pralhad Joshi, Union minister and BJP leader alleged that Congress did not provide electricity during its rule and this led to an increase in the population. The BJP leader made the remarks at Bellur in Karnataka`s Hassan district, which is likely to go to polls by May.

These comments from Joshi came at a time in poll-bound Karnataka over the party’s election promise to provide free electricity if voted to power.

Pralhad Joshi claimed that Congress did not provide electricity during their regime, which in turn resulted in an increase in the population.

How the Congress took the remark

Over the allegations, Randeep Singh Surjewala, a politician from Haryana and a member of the Indian National Congress in turn took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its ‘idiocy’ to make a such analogy.
“The extent of BJP’s Idiocy is bizarre now! LESS EELCTRICITY = MORE CHILDREN! With defeat staring in the face, BJP’s Union Ministers are losing the plot. GET WELL BJP !” he said in a tweet.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress MP has also reacted to the Union minister’s ‘population-electricity’ analogy. He called it ‘absolutely pathetic’. “And the man is being positioned as CM,” he expressed his concern.

The UN report

The UN expects that India will overtake China in April. Based on Pew Research Center analyses of data from the UN and other sources, India “is estimated to have more than 1.4 billion people – greater than the entire population of Europe (744 million) or the Americas (1.04 billion). China, too, has more than 1.4 billion people, but while China’s population is declining, India’s continues to grow.”

Article BY LAURA SILVER, CHRISTINE HUANG AND LAURA CLANCY also states that “Infant mortality in India has decreased 70% in the past three decades but remains high by regional and international standards.” And that, “India also recorded increases in net migration on several occasions in the second half of the 20th century. ” During his address at the BJP`s Vijay Sankalpa Yatra at Bellur in Karnataka`s Hassan district, Pralhad Joshi said that the population increased during Congress` regime due to a lack of electricity. Congress people found it bizarre and absurd.
