NDMC Counsels Authorities To Evacuate, As Capital Receives The Highest Rainfall Recorded in 41 years

Delhi hit by a hard situation due to receiving the highest rainfall recorded in the last 41 years. NDMC works tirelessly to shift people to safer places.

In the last 24 hours, Delhi recorded 155mm of rainfall which is the highest rainfall recorded after July 1982, said by IMD


As Delhi is hit by worsening moonsoon and water logging issue in several parts of the national capital, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has senior  keep out of sight on the officers who occupy the ground floors to shift to higher places as a safeguard measure. In the last 24 hours, Delhi recorded highest rainfall recorded 153 mm of rainfall, marking the highest single-day rainfall in July since 1982, according to the India Meteorological Department. 

The report says houses caved in waterlogging in various residential colonies, flooding issues were also observed in gallantry enclaves such as Chanakyapuri, Kaka nagar, Bharti nagar and other VIP roads and colonies under the authority of NDMC. 

Advice is given by NDMC to people who live in the lower ground area to shift to the upper areas of the city till the water level is safe. Police officers said that NDMC will help shift many of their colleagues to the safer part of the region and the power supply has been cut down by NDMC. NDMC officials are working fearlessly and tirelessly   to stave off further water storage in their area. Locals say that many trees have also fallen and calls have been received from different areas, and the concerned teams have seriously received them. Official teams of NDMC have also suggested various techniques to prevent water logging due to the worst climatic issues.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took the situation of  Delhi seriously and asked the Lieutenant Governor to stay updated on the situation.
