In a tragic incident in Delhi, a man brutally killed his cousin, Nargis, with an iron rod in a park. Allegedly, he was enraged because she had refused to marry him, and he struggled to find another partner as well.

Rejected Love Turns Deadly:

The 25-year-old victim was studying stenography in Malviya Nagar, and her cousin, Irfan, a 28-year-old food delivery agent, had meticulously planned the murder over three days. He surrendered to the police. Nargis’ family had rejected Irfan’s proposal, partly due to his unstable job. She had also cut off communication with him. Fueled by rejection and frustration, Irfan carried out the attack when Nargis passed by the park.

The heinous crime highlights serious concerns about women’s safety in Delhi. Swati Maliwal, the Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), expressed alarm over the incident, as well as another murder in Dabri area. She questioned the accountability of Delhi Police and issued notices to address the issue. The increasing incidents of violence against women reflect the urgent need for improved safety measures and awareness in the city.
