On Wednesday, in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area, a seven year old girl died after her throat got slit by a Chinese manjha, “a string coated with glass used for flying kites.”

According to the police, the horrific incident took place in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area near Guru Harkishan Nagar when the girl was travelling on motorcycle with her sister and parents and was seated in front of his dad, when manjha slit her throat.

Just after the incident they rushed to the nearby Sri Balaji Action Hospital.

Hospital informed the police as it was a MEDICO-LEGAL CASE (MLC).

A case under section 304 A IPC (causing death due to negligence) was registered by the Police.

Further investigation is underway.

It is known for its sharpness and strength, which makes it popular among kite enthusiasts. However, the use of Chinese manjha has also been associated with accidents and injuries, as the sharp string can pose a danger to people, animals, and even infrastructure.
