Dipke transformed the unusual phrase into a satirical political identity. The Cockroach Janta Party quickly became a rallying point for young Indians frustrated by employment concerns, examination controversies and questions about government accountability.
How The ‘Cockroach’ Protests Began
Initially, the Cockroach Janta Party was largely an online movement. However, concerns surrounding examination irregularities helped turn the campaign into a much larger protest.
The NEET-UG controversy became a major source of anger among students and families. Dipke called for a public demonstration in Delhi and demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
