A Surat-based chemical engineer and former pharmaceutical employee has been detained for allegedly running a narcotics business that operated in multiple locations and supplied drugs to some of Mumbai’s most prestigious parties and raves. The arrest was made as a consequence of a collaborative effort between the crime branch and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
Jitesh Hinhoria, the accused, was arrested on Saturday in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Authorities additionally found two huge facilities with 23,000 litres of chemicals used in the production of psychotropic narcotics such as ketamine, mephedrone, and the famed cocaine.

According to the officials, a factory in Paithan called Mahalakshmi Industries was allegedly involved in the production of mind-altering chemicals such as mephedrone and ketamine. Following the high-stakes joint operation, 4.5kg of Mephedrone, 4.3kg of Ketamine, and another 9.3kg of Mephedrone combination were found at the site. The estimated illicit market value of the total haul of narcotics, drugs, and raw chemicals was more than 500 crore, as per the report of Hindustan Times.

According to the Times of India, the high-stakes combined operation unearthed a startling inventory of contraband, including 23 kilos of cocaine, nearly 17 kilograms of mephedrone, and 4.3 kilograms of ketamine, all of which were destined for the deadly underground market. The estimated value of the large drug haul and raw ingredients is Rs 500 crore.

According to Mandalik, the illegal market value of these medicines and mind-altering chemicals is believed to be more than 250 crore. They raided three factories and discovered raw ingredients that might be utilized to make a comparable or even greater number of medicines. 

According to a DRI official, this operation highlighted the growing problem of synthetic medicines and the improper use of industrial equipment for their production.

During the search of one of the accused’s residential properties, they found approximately 23 kilograms of cocaine, about 2.9 kilograms of mephedrone, and around 30 lakh in Indian currency The prohibited substances were being distributed to different states, and some of them were intended for sale in foreign countries, according to officials
