Amit Shah on Adani: We are not afraid or hiding anything

“They can go to the Court, which is not under our control”: Amit Shah on Adani

Amit Shah on Adani: The Union Home Minister breaks silence on the Congress’ claims that the Modi government had favoured the Adani Group.

In an interview with ANI, HM Shah said, “There is nothing to fear or hide.”

In response to the most recent Hindenburg report on the Adani Group, a massive political confrontation has sprung between the Modi government and the opposition. Rahul Gandhi, a member of Congress, alleged that the government was favouring the business group.

Gandhi had questioned PM Modi in the Lok Sabha during his motion of thanks speech to the President’s address, linking him to Adani’s rapid rise. The Parliament recordings of the Wayanad MP’s speech were purged of specific passages.

The Modi government has been under attack over the Adani issue from the opposition parties, including Congress. Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, has called for an investigation into the Adani group by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

During his remarks in both Houses of Parliament last week, PM Modi was stopped numerous times. In reaction to the PM’s remarks in his address, the Congress chanted “Modi-Adani Bhai Bhai.”

The 1.4 billion people in India who received basic amenities, for the first time, under PM Modi’s leadership are a blessing that the opposition’s baseless accusations cannot pierce, PM Modi said, dismissing their claims as false.

In response to Gandhi’s remarks about Prime Minister Modi, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi filed a breach of privilege complaint against Gandhi. Later, the Congress leader was instructed to respond by Wednesday by the Lok Sabha secretariat.

Pointing out that the Congress issue has been brought before the Supreme Court, Amit Shah, told the ANI that if the Supreme Court is involved in the situation, it is inappropriate for him to speak as a minister.

Shah targeted Congress and said that the party had made such charges against the Centre when the Pegasus spyware controversy first broke out. He urged Congress to present legal proof of their claims.

“Why don’t they enter the court? I advised them to provide evidence in court when the Pegasus problem was addressed, but they chose not to. They are just capable of making noise. The courts are not under our control. Court toh humaare kabze mein nahin hai ”, said the Home Minister.

According to Shah, the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Congress party are different. Shah was questioned about his remarks from Saturday in Karnataka, where he allegedly drew comparisons between the PFI and the Congress, in an interview with ANI.

I never stated that PFI and Congress are the same, he replied. PFI had several cases pending against them, and Congress attempted to have the cases withdrawn. All we did was try to stop it. What is the reason for concern?” reported  Amit Shah to ANI

“PFI has been successfully banned. I think PFI was promoting radicalism and conversion. They were attempting to gather supplies for terrorism. According to a plethora of papers, the PFI’s operations were harmful to maintaining national unity, Shah stated in the interview.

Responding to the BBC documentary on PM Modi and Hindenburg report, “The truth emerges despite a thousand conspiracies. They have been after Modi since 2002. But every time, Modi Ji comes out stronger & more popular”, said Amit Shah.
