Aero India 2023: Asia’s Largest Aero Show Inaugurated Today

Aero India 2023 starts from today (13th February) and will run till 17th February in Bengaluru. The Aero show is one of the largest aero shows in Asia and will see more than 811 exhibitors, out of which 701 are Indian exhibitors and 110 are foreign exhibitors.

What is the ‘Aero India 2023- Runway for billion opportunities’?

Aero India 2023 is India’s 14th Aero Show that is being held at the Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is a biennial show that was first held in 1996 and has been taking place regularly since then. It is being organised by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on behalf of the Department of Defense Production, Ministry of Defense, Government of India.

The aero show is a means to showcase the various indigenous technologies and indicate that India has developed in this sector and its defense capabilities. As the show has also invited foreign participants, it will help in building strategic partnership with fellow countries and international businesses.

The event will promote the air platforms that have been indigenously built in India such as the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and more. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “We envisioned Aero India 2023 to be a big event, but it has taken shape of an even more grand event.

With participants from around 100 friendly countries and 800 exhibitors, this Aero show is the biggest so far.” Elizabeth Jones, United States Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador to India said “It’s an honor for me to be here with you today for Aero India-2023. The size of this Year’s US delegation to Aero India is one of the biggest ever.” This will also help in strengthening the US-India partnership even further and ensuring a prolonged cooperation.

Aero India 2023 Inaugurated by PM Modi PM Narendra Modi tweets- “Aero India is a wonderful platform to showcase the unlimited potential our country has in defence and aerospace sectors.”

PM Modi also emphasized the use of technology in strengthening the defence capabilities of the country.

The Aero India 2023 also promotes the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ scheme where Indian manufacturers are being promoted to make their products globally competitive, relevant and attract more investments.

How to buy tickets for the show?

General public can also attend the show by buying tickets that are available from the official website. The tickets are priced at Rupees 2500 for each day.
