Chetan Sharma Sting: Shocking revelations about Kohli and others

BCCI chief selector, Chetan Sharma makes shocking revelation about Indian cricket team during sting operation

After a sensational sting operation conducted by a TV channel, a lot of shocking revelations came to the fore including the doping scandal going on in the Indian cricket team.

After the recently concluded Women’s IPL Auction 2023, the BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma was caught in a controversy on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, after he allegedly revealed classified selection information.

Sharma, who was recently reinstated by the BCCI, disclosed some previously hidden truths which were probably almost buried, like the use of fake fitness injections or drugs in Team India, the real reason for the disagreement between Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli, and the truth about who is responsible for dropping players from the team.

These revelations which were indeed captured on a spy camera may have a profound impact on the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the ICC (International Cricket Council), and may also leave fans feeling disheartened and misled.

Sharma said that players are using fake fitness methods like injections and that the BCCI is deliberately overlooking the matter (injected fitness of prominent players). During the sting operation, Sharma also allegedly revealed some internal discussions with head coach Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli.

ARE INDIAN CRICKET PLAYERS INVOLVED IN DOPING SCAM

The former Indian pace bowler alleged that around 80-85% of players in the team take injections to fake fitness to expedite their return to competitive cricket. Not only this, he also said that there are even some star players who have personal doctors outside of the cricket board, to provide them with such injections to fulfill their purpose.

The BCCI Chief Selector also alleged that from a stress fracture for the T20I series against Australia in September, there was a difference of opinion between him and the team management over Bumrah’s return. Bumrah is likely to miss the entire four-Tests of Border-Gavaskar series along with the three-matches of ODI series after that, as he still continues to be out of action.

Among many revelations, Sharma also said that there was an ego tussle between former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and former Captain Virat Kohli. However, Chetan Sharma was unavailable for comment when contacted by the PTI agency.

Currently, it is believed that the BCCI is looking into the matter, as national selectors are bound by contract and are not supposed to speak to the media persons. However, according to a senior BCCI official, it will be Jay Shah’s (BCCI secretary) call as to what will happen and what will be Chetan Sharma’s future.

“The question is whether Test or ODI captain Rohit Sharma or T20 skipper Hardik Pandya would like to communicate with Chetan in a selection meeting knowing that he has let out major internal discussions”, a senior BCCI official told PTI agency on conditions of anonymity.

The BCCI source also stated that the BCCI officials including board Secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Binny are extremely unhappy with the sting operation and an official action will be made against Chetan Sharma soon.

CHETAN SHARMA BREAKS SILENCE ON VIRAT KOHLI & ROHIT SHARMA RIFT

Chetan Sharma also spoke about the alleged rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Since the time Virat Kohli took over as the captain, the Indian fans were divided into two sections – Rohit fans and Kohli fans as per reports. Although, no concrete evidence proves there is a rift between the two but there were some instances that happened every now and then that kept this rumour alive.
