Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Jharkhand. He came from a middle-class family and had a deep interest in sports from childhood. Before cricket, Dhoni was passionate about football and badminton. Interestingly, he was initially a goalkeeper in his school football team. His coach noticed his quick reflexes and suggested that he try wicketkeeping in cricket. That decision changed his life forever.
