Mika Singh Slams Diljit Dosanjh for Casting Hania Aamir, Demands Apology and Removal of Scenes from Sardaar Ji 3
As the media hype intensifies, singer Mika Singh has slammed singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh on casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his yet-to-be-released film Sardaar Ji 3. While the controversy escalated, Mika gave a demand by urging Diljit to make a public apology and delete all “obnoxious” scenes related to Hania in the film.
The very backlash for the singer has begun via Instagram stories, where he announced his disappointment and demanded accountability for the issue at hand. He went on to add, “Guys, I know all of us make mistakes in life. But ultimately, there is one simplest word that can bring it all back into place for most: Sorry.” He also mentioned that should Diljit Dosanjh accept the error and remove Hania Aamir’s scenes, it would all be forgiven. “That’s it. No hate. Just respect. Desh pehle (Nation first),” he added, reiterating his passionate post.

Things got worse, as Mika Singh made yet another note, rebuking the star for working with Pakistani artists and termed him as “fake singer.” In his statement, he said, “In today’s times, the rift between India and Pakistan is very wide, and a decision like this springs up at the time when everything is fine.” “Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going too well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly,” writes Mika, supporting the argument that working with Pakistani talent is in such bad taste in such sensitive times.
Mika’s whole tirade reflects the general mood among certain sections of the Indian entertainment industry, who think that artists should be careful while self-associating with Pakistani talent, given the fragile diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also mentioned how there will be similar opposition when Fawad Khan is cast opposite Vaani Kapoor, implying that this isn’t the first time such furor has been raised.
On the other hand, the producer of Sardaar Ji 3 responded to this controversy by saying the film was shot earlier this year and before the recent developments in the relationship between India and Pakistan. A source close to the production said, “Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine.” Also, the release strategy has now been modified to cope with the “controversy.” The insider explained this, “Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them.” Therefore, as a result, the film will no longer be released theatrically in India but only in overseas markets.
Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is the latest entry into the popular Punjabi film franchise. High expectations abounded among the fan base of Diljit Dosanjh, but this controversy has cast a shadow on its launch. Instead, the film will now be releasing on June 27 internationally, but the uproar surrounding Hania Aamir’s involvement and Mika Singh’s scathing remarks have certainly diverted attention from the film’s original promotional campaign.

It is now unclear to the observer whether Diljit will respond according to Mika’s demands him or will remain inconspicuous. Up till now, there has been no official word from Diljit on the controversy, and fans and insiders are keenly watching how this develops in the days leading up to the film’s overseas release.
In this day and age, when public perception plays a significant role in determining a film’s success, it may actually be somewhat increasing pressure on Diljit to finally heed the established concern. Whether he will apologize or change the flick about is uncertain — but one thing is assured: Sardaar Ji 3 has suddenly become much more than just a movie release; it is now in the middle of a great debate about cross-border collaborations in Indian cinema.
