British Indian friends join line-up of challenging new real-world UK show
In London, two British Indian female business people are now part of the final line up of a new real-world UK show, set for the UK viewers that’ll air from next week. The concept is straightforward; contestants have to generate well-considered displays of bravery, and help each other to double their money within a matter of hours, and the winner takes home the cash.
Radhika Howarth, a nutritionist and chef, Seema Anand, a historian and storyteller, and 11 other pairs of contestants who will compete in the ‘Double the Money’ will be on Channel 4 from 6p.m.
Much as they do so, the filmmakers engage us and the viewers on the Indian roots (eg. food, art, storytelling and Bollywood and much more.)
Each of them are given a small sum of seed money at the beginning of the show and they are to grow the money and double in value in just a few hours on the other side of the game if they fail they are eliminated. “It’s indescribably exciting to represent Indian women on an international platform and also break stereotypes along the way;” the two ladies in their 60s remarked.
“One day away after the other brings new adventures here and the bonds formed with other contestants will forever be in the heart. We have cherished this opportunity and we have been fervently trying to destroy the stereotypes as well as showcase our hardness and fearlessness. We are honoured to have been afforded this unique opportunity of a lifetime that will forever remain in our hearts,” they said.
