Munmun Dutta called out for using casteist slur in her makeup video

Munmun Dutta is a TV actor of the SabTV’s famous show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Recently, in a makeup video, that went viral on social media, she used a castist slur and was called out by people on social media. This lead to a massive outrage from caste minorities on the internet. Later, Munmun Dutta released an apology statement and removed the video. She has now been booked under the ST/SC Act.

Versha Sharma to be appointed as the  new Editor-in-chief Of Teen Vogue

After Alexi McCammond’s sudden resignation Versha Sharma, the managing editor of a news website, NotThis is appointed as the new Editor in Chief. In her tweet, she expressed her gratitude and hopes for this position.

KR Gouri Amma passes away

Kalathilparambil Raman Gouri Amma, the first woman law graduate from the backward Hindu Ezhava caste, died on Tuesday in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. She was 102 years old. Gouri Amma, as she is known in Kerala, was a member of the Communist Party of India’s founding committee (Marxist). Her relatives said on Tuesday that she was suffering from age-related complications and had been hospitalized a few weeks ago. The veteran Communist had served in politics for eight decades, being the state’s longest-serving woman minister.

Sana Ramchand, The First Hindu Woman To Crack Pakistan Civil Services Exam

Sana Ramchand is the first Hindu woman to pass Pakistan’s prestigious Central Superior Services examination (CSS) and be chosen for the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS). She is one of the 221 candidates who passed the CSS exam out of 18,553 who took the written exam.

Assam appoints Ajanta Neog as its first female finance minister

Ajanta Neog, a five-time MLA from the Golaghat constituency, has been given the charge by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister to serve as the finance minister for Assam. Neog, a law graduate from Gauhati University, is 46 years old. Tashi Yangjom Becomes First Indian Woman Climber To Scale Everest In 2021

In the year 2021, Tashi Yangjom became the first Indian woman to summit Mount Everest. She started climbing on May 9 and finished on May 11, reaching the summit at 6 a.m. Tashi Yangjom is an Arunachal Pradesh native who received training at the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) in Dirang, one of India’s top adventure sports schools.

 

Neera Tanden To Serve As Senior Adviser To Biden

According to Biden administration, Neera Tanden, an Indian-American who had withdrawn her appointment to head the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) due to bipartisan opposition, will now enter the White House as a senior advisor to President Joe Biden. “Neera’s intelligence, tenacity, and political savvy would be an advantage to the Biden administration when she assumes a new position as senior advisor to the president,” said John Podesta, the founder of the Center for American Progress (CAP).
