This legenedarty painter would’ve been 100 today! It was only four years back, on 9th June that this artist left the world. On the day of his birthday, let us tale some time to appreciate the great work done by him.
Hussain was not just an extraordinary painter, he was an equally good photographer, filmmaker and printmaker. He was also the recepient of Padma Bhushan, Pamda Shri and Padma Vibhushan.
Hussain’s work was a notable change from the previous work done by any artists in India and had a new life to it. He was one of the most influential artist of the 20th century and continues to be so even now.
He was an internationally acclaimed and respected person. Hussain also faced a lot of criticism for his work and the content of his painting. A lot of Hussain’s admirers have asked that he be awarded the Bharat Ratna, which is the highest award in India.
Google today celebrated M.F Hussain’s birthday by dedicating the Google doodle to him.
