TheCanadian government said that it is trying to make marijuana legal in Canada for the purpose of recreation. Though medical marijuana is allowed in Canada, recreational use of marijuana might be made legal in 2017.
As stated in Reuters, the reason why the PM is seeking for this legalization is – “to better protect young people from marijuana by providing increased control over points of sale and to take revenue away from organised crime.”
