However, Justice Manohar has reserved its order for June 6 on the plea of Sushil Kumar two times Olympic gold winner seeking direction for holding the trials in the 74 kg category, which could enable him to reserve a berth in the Indian wrestling squad.

The WFI has told High Court that when Sushil Kumar was sent to Georgia with other Indian Wrestler earlier this year, at that time he left Indian Camp and choose to join the Georgian national team and further trained them.

The WFI counsel expressed that they love both Sushil and Narsingh, but how can they do injustice with Narsingh. The court also took note of Centre’s stand, which states that holding a trial is a statutory mandate (under sports code).

Whereas, advocate Amit Sibal, appearing for Sushil Kumar, argued that trials are important to access the form of athletes just before Olympics.
