100 villages submerged, still no relief from Assam’s flood

There seems to be no respite for Assam from the major floods, as the river Brahmaputra and some of its a few tributaries have continued to maintain a rising trend in a few places.

As per the reports, over 88 thousand people have been till now affected in seven districts.

Moreover the flood water have also affected over 6 thousand hectare of the crop land and the district administration has been kind enough to set up seven relief camps in worst hit Lakhimpur district and also the relief materials are being distributed.

Almost 100 villages have been inundated in these floods and has also submerged 1 thousand 500 hectares of crop land. Apart from flood, the erosion also took a serious turn in many districts.

To rescue the marooned people Boats have been pressed into services at Morigaon district.
