 School Closure Update In response to the prevailing cold weather and dense fog, Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate, Maneesh Kumar Verma, has announced the extension of winter holidays for schools in Noida and Greater Noida. The closure applies to classes from nursery to 8, with schools set to remain shut until January 16. Additionally, adjustments to school hours have been made for classes 9 to 12, which will now operate from 10 am to 3 pm until January 20.

Ghaziabad Schools

 Follow Suit In alignment with the decision made in Noida and Greater Noida, Ghaziabad district schools, catering to students from Nursery to Class 12, will also remain closed until January 16 due to the ongoing cold wave. The district school inspector issued a notice confirming the extended winter break, urging parents to ensure the safety and well-being of their children during this period.

Bareilly

Joins the List of Extended Winter Breaks Bareilly, too, is experiencing the impact of dense fog and a significant drop in temperature. As a precautionary measure, schools from class 1 to 12 in Bareilly have extended their winter holidays until January 16. Parents and students are encouraged to stay updated on any changes through official announcements from school authorities.

Punjab’s Comprehensive School Closure Announcement

The cold wave has prompted a comprehensive closure of schools in Punjab. The education minister of the state, Harjot Singh Bains, declared that all schools, including public, government-aided, and private institutions, will remain closed for students in Class 5 and below until Saturday, January 20. Higher classes are expected to resume on Monday, January 15, according to the minister’s announcement on social media.

Agra District Implements Closure

 Up to Class 5 Responding to the extreme cold, the Agra District Magistrate has issued an order for the closure of all schools, including those under the UP Board, until January 20 for classes up to 5.
