Legends League Cricket: Shahid Afridi’s Asia Lions thrash Gautam Gambhir’s India Maharajas


 Former star cricketers Gautam Gambhir from India and Shahid Afridi from Pakistan are participating currently in the Legends League Cricket 2023.

In this, Gautam Gambhir is leading the squad for India Maharajas, while Afridi is at the helm of the Asia Lions side. Australia’s Aaron Finch-led World Giants side is the third team which participated in the tournament.

The first match ended with Asia Lions emerging victorious over the India Maharajas by nine runs.

The battle between India Maharajas and Asia Lions has kicked off the Legends League 2023 series at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha on Friday (March 10).

TOTAL OF 8 MATCHES ARE TO BE PLAYED IN THE T20 LEAGUE

All three teams will be facing each other twice in the league stage of the tournament.

The winner of the Eliminator will reach the summit clash with the first finalist.

The series consists of retired cricket stars and legends from more than 12 nations participating in this year’s Legends cricket league (LLC) Masters at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha in Qatar.

The tournament began on March 10 and will conclude with the final on March 20.

 In the first match, Afridi’s Asia Lions won the toss and elected to bat first. During that time, fans took note of an awkward exchange between Gambhir and Afridi before the game and expressed their views on the same on Twitter and Instagram by sharing hilarious memes.

They recalled their past and reminisced about the duo’s heated exchange on the field during the India and Pakistan matches and compiled hilarious memes.

India Maharajas got off to an awful start. After suffering the first wicket, it was up to Gautam Gambhir to consolidate along with Murali Vijay. Gambhir scored two fours off Tanvir’s second over and looked on-point with his timing and Vijay continued in style at the end of the powerplay. The score stood at 49/1.
