One of the best Tamil singer, Pithukuli Murugadas died in Chennai early this morning. He was an amazing writer, lyricist and music composer.
Pithukuli was born in a Brahmin family at Coimbatore in January 25, 1920 and he use to learn bhajans from his great grandfather Gopalkrishna Bagavathar.
Murugadas participated in freedom struggle and was badly beaten by police and lost his left eye vision.
Murugadas started his career in 1947 as a singer and has given some memorable hit performances in Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and USA. This fine singer is not between us but his lovely creations are still in our hearts.
