Dog Lover: Meet the ‘Dog lady’ of New Delhi!

This dog lady cares for 400 stray dogs


If you love dogs then it’s worth reading. You must have come across puppy lovers or animal lovers but, Praying Devi who is a rag picker has voluntarily dedicated her life to stray dogs and now she is famously known as ‘Dog Lady’.

Pratima Devi resides in a tarp covered shed with her 120 dogs and feed them without even feeding herself. Such a beautiful person she is! This dog lady is 65 -year -old and said that she is very much happy with her beloved dogs after she left her husband due to troubleful marriage. Pratima Devi was quoted saying “I feel happy to live with them. When I was with my husband, I wasn’t happy. I used to work all the day and run the house. He didn’t work.”

Well, she was not happily married but had three grown up children who still live in her native village, but she don’t want to go back there. She also shared that her son kept calling het but she refused her proposal too. Dog lady spends her entire day feeding and nursing the dogs when they get injured. She said that she treat these stray dogs as her own children. She also said that she love dogs and that is why she likes to spend most of her time with them.

Shocking meals dog lady offers them

Pratima is a mere rag picker but then she also manages to buy 12 kgs of rice and 5kgs of meat for the lunch of dogs every day. She feeds them with 10 litres of milk for their breakfast. Pratima has a small tea stall where she would feed biscuits for stray dogs. Apart from her good deeds, her main concern for now is who will look after her dogs after her death.
