Domestic violence is becoming such an issue in our country, from which every other woman is suffering. But only a few women raise their voices against it.  Recently, well-known TV actor Karan Mehra was accused of assault by his wife Nisha Rawal. Karan was also arrested by the Goregaon police after this complaint. However, later Karan got bail. On the matter, Karan said that his wife Nisha was playing the ‘poor girl’ card and had hit her head against the wall herself.

At the same time, now Nisha herself has brought her side in front of the media. She has shared pictures of the assault done by Karan. Talking about this, Nisha could not stop herself and cried in front of the media. Many actors in the television industry have met their soulmates at work and lived their fairytale love stories. However, there are many instances where things didn’t work out. In some cases, things have also gotten ugly with many actor couples being involved in domestic violence.

From Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal to Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli, here is a look at couples who have announced divorce news due to alleged domestic violence.

Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal:

For the past few days, there was talk that all is not well in the marriage of Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal. Things got worse when Karan was arrested by Mumbai Police on 1 June 2021 after Nisha’s complaint. The complaint said that after the fight, Karan hit Nisha. Currently, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ fame actor Karan has got bail.

Shweta Tiwari and Abhinav Kohli:

Shweta and Abhinav parted ways when Shweta complained against Abhinav for assaulting her daughter Palak Tiwari. After this Abhinav recently alleged that Shweta was trying to take away his son Reyansh from him and left him alone in the hotel room and went to participate in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. Shweta then posted the CCTV footage of Abhinav in which he was seen getting aggressive with him and Reyansh. In a recent interview, Shweta said that daughter Palak has seen him beating her.

Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu:

Contestant and actress Rashami Desai of ‘Bigg Boss 13’ has always been in a lot of discussions about personal life. The actress married her ‘Uttaran’ co-star Nandish Sandhu, but the relationship between the two deteriorated within a few years. Both got divorced in the year 2016. After the divorce, Rashami told in an interview that her marriage was quite abusive. Nandish used to doubt her and even stopped her from working.

Deepshikha Nagpal and Keshav Arora:

Deepshikha complained to the police about physical abuse against ex-husband and actor Keshav. They were married in 2012. The actress had said, to the media, ‘I decided to file the case because I did not want him to ruin the life of another girl. Even when we were married, he used to flirt and lie to other women. No woman will tolerate violence. He cheated on me and I think all girls should now know how he is.’ Both got divorced in February 2016.

Daljit Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot:

Daljit and Shaleen got married in 2009. Daljit accused her husband of domestic violence and that he tortured her for 6 years. Daljit first complained of dowry harassment and then approached the police and was charged with an attempt to murder. In her complaint, the actress said that Shaleen physically tortured her and her in-laws remained mute spectators.

Vaishnavi Dhanraj and Nitin Sehrawat:

‘CID’ actress Vaishnavi while talking about her marriage with ‘Kitni Mohabbat Hai’ actor Nitin had said, ‘I tried a lot to save the marriage but when nothing could be right, the last way left was divorce. The main reason for this was domestic violence. Things could have been better between us but due to physical abuse, we had to part ways.
