1st-7th September – National Nutrition Week

The 1st week of September is observed as National Nutrition Week. This was started back in 1982. This week highlights the role of nutrition in our bodies. The theme for this year is “Feeding smart right from the start.” As the week starts, take care of your nutrition intake and health. Also, those who are not privileged have healthy food and good medical facilities.

5th September – Teachers Day 

India celebrates Teacher’s Day every year on 5 September in memory of the 2nd president of India, Dr S. Radhakrishnan. Apart from being an independent politician, he was a professor and philosopher. Make sure to appreciate your teachers’ extra efforts to provide knowledge during this pandemic.

10 September – World Suicide Prevention Day 

World Suicide Prevention Day

On this day, many communities and organizations come together to create awareness for preventing the action of suicide. The aim is to create a world without suicide. As per WHO reports, in 2019, every 40 seconds, someone is attempting to commit suicide. Some estimate this number to be 1 million also. Therefore, a person needs to value this gift of life.

14th September – हिंदी दिवस (Hindi Day)

On 14 September 1949, Hindi, written in Devanagari script, was adopted as an official language of the Republic of India. This day is also marked to celebrate the Hindi language. This language is not restricted to just India. It is diversified to Bangladesh, Nepal, Suriname, Fiji, Mauritius, Guyana, Tobago, Trinidad, and others.

18 September (Third Saturday) – International Red Panda DayInternational Red Panda Day

International Red Panda Day is observed annually on the 3rd Saturday of September. This year it is marked on 18 September. This cute animal is found in the Eastern Himalayas and spends most of its time on trees. They are bigger than cats in size with bear-like bodies. They are nocturnal.

According to World Wildlife reports, less than 10,000 red pandas are left across the globe.

22nd September – Rose Day

If you confused it with Valentine’s week, then you are mistaken. This day is a symbol of pumping hope among patients who are battling cancer. World Rose Day is celebrated to remember 12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada, a cancer patient who was not ready to give up hope.

26th September – World Contraception DayWorld Contraception Day

This day is observed to spread awareness about safe sex and raise knowledge related to contraception. From pills to protection, there are several birth-control remedies. But still, many youngsters and teenagers are unaware of the proper procedure and method.

The only source of information for many is social media or online search engines. This initiative is taken every year to educate people on contraception facts. A person needs to take advice from doctors before experimenting with anything on their body.

27th September- World Tourism Day

The UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) aims to highlight the importance of tourism. Due to the pandemic, the Tourism industry was immensely affected as the world was under lockdown. Tourism is a way to promote the art, culture, language, and values of a nation or region. Therefore, this year’s theme for World Tourism Day 2021 will be ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth.
