A senior religious leader Shankaracharya Swaroopanad has said that the entry of women into a famous temple devoted to Shani will bring bad luck for them.
According to him, this decision will drive will more rapes. Notably, this statement by him came just days after the temple ended a centuries –old ban on the entry of women in the Shingnapur Shrine in Maharashtra.

Last week Bombay High Court said that locals and temple officials cannot stop women to enter inside the temple and declared their actions illegal.
