Sushma asks Akhilesh to help the Russian ‘Bahu’ in distress

On Sunday an event unfolded in Agra, as a Russian daughter-in-law sat on Dharna with her son outside her husband’s house from where she had been kicked out by her mother-in-law.

What sparked the story was a tweet from the foreign minister Sushma Swaraj asking UP CM Akhilesh Yadav to help Olga Efimenkova.

Soon the local official came to her rescue where she told the officials that her mother-in-law has been torturing her both mentally and physically.

She added that her mother-in-law has been harassing her with a demand of Rs 11 lakh dowry. She also told the officials that she has been sitting on dharna since Saturday and that her dharna will continue until she accepts her back.

Olga married Vikrant Chandel of Agra in 2011 and were happily living in Goa. Vikrant, supporting his wife’s protest, said that his mother Nirmala has always wanted to evict them from his parental property.

However, on the other hand the villainous looking mother-in-law has her own story to say, she told that these people are always gambling and drinking it is very difficult to live with them. Also they are not letting me run my school.

Nirmala said that she gave her son Rs11 lakh to run a business in Goa and gifted the family house in Agra to her daughter. Now, when they have spent all the money they have come here to make our lives difficult.

A case has been registered at the New Agra police station against Nirmala, her daughter and two others.

Olga and her family have moved inside the house again.

Later on, Olga thanked Sushma Swaraj for asking the UP CM to take a prompt action.
