Relief for Delhiites as temperature takes a dip

Delhiites woke up to light drizzle Today morning as the temperature drops to 24 degrees Celsius, bringing a sign of relief from the increasing heat.

The government yesterday told that the monsoon is expected to hit Kerala by May end or early June.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Harsh Vardhan the Union Science and Technology Minister has said that normal and above normal rainfall is predicted this year by many forecasting agencies including the Indian Meteorological Department.

Temperature drops in Delhi on Thursday morning

He said that monsoon is suppose to reach South Kerala either by May end or by early June and for which the forecast will be issued on May 15.

Harsh Vardhan also said that the forecast has been correct and within the forecast limits during all the 10 yrs from 2005 till 2014.

In the wake of the rising temperature in the capital the Directorate of Education had passed the orders asking all the government, civic-run and private schools to declare compulsory summer vacation from May 11.

Temperature in the national capital has been fluctuating between 42 and 44 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded was 23.8 degree Celsius.

Let’s hope that this drop in temperature maintains, and Delhi gets a further relief from the scorching heat.
