Railway Ministry still waiting for Tamil Nadu’s govt. response over joint venture

On Sunday, Suresh Prabhu, Union Railway Minister said that the Ministry was waiting for Tamil Nadu government to response on the proposals for a joint venture to execute developmental projects in the State.

Neighbouring States, Kerala, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka had agreed for a proposal of joint venture with the Railway Ministry.

Suresh Prabhu told, “We are awaiting a response from State, such a progressive State, with a dynamic CM. I am sure Tamil Nadu will be the first one to join hands and we will be able to make it forward.”

The full team was working on semi and high-speed railway and it includes Chennai–Bengaluru corridor, where test was conducted on the speed from 110 kmph to 200 kmph.

The Ministry, he said, was also working on the Chennai–New Delhi high-speed corridor in two phases.
