No Government accommodation for former Chief Ministers: Supreme Court

The apex court has ruled out that no government accommodation would be given to the former chief ministers. According to reports, a bench headed by Justice Anil R Dave said any such government accommodation should be vacated two or three months.

Notably, the decision came on a plea filed by NGO based in UP, which had filed a petition against allotment of government bungalows to ex- CMs and other non –
eligible organizations.

The court in a statement said, “that they don’t have right to occupy government accommodation for lifetime. “

Well, this is a big setback decision for former CMs. The former Chief Ministers who are still staying the in bungalows are Kalyan Singh, Ram Naresh Yadav, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh, Rajnath Singh, Naryan Dutt Tiwari.
