Mamata Banerjee to sworn as West Bengal CM Today

Mamata Banerjee the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief will take oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for a second term today.

In her 47 member ministry, former Indian cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Kolkata Mayor Shovan Chatterjee are among the 17 new faces.

Reportedly, Banerjee has met the state governor K N Tripathi yesterday and submitted the list of MLAs that would also be taking oaths at the swearing-in-ceremony, which is going to take place at Kolkata’s famous Red Road, an arterial link road, today.

This would also mark the first time a Chief Minister will take an oath on Red Road.

Banerjee said that Union Minister Babul Supriyo, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bangladesh Industry Minister, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Bhutan Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav have confirmed that they will attend the ceremony.
