Maha. Govt’s Quit India 2 to celebrate 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement

In order to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the 1942 famous and revolutionary Quit India Movement, many initiatives have been organized in Mumbai today.

The movement is known as one of the major milestones in the history of our country’s struggle for independence.

This movement of disobedience which was launched in August 1942, with Mahatma Gandhi’s call for an immediate independence, made at the Mumbai’s Gowalia Tank, which is now well known as the August Kranti Maidan.

On the 75th anniversary of this movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi in Mumbai, the Maharashtra Government is planning to launch Quit India 2-from Swaraaj to Suraaj initiative at the historic August Kranti Maidan.

It would further emphasize on the freedom from illiteracy, wastage of water, farmer suicide, addiction among youth and also corruption.

Venkaiah Naidu the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, along with the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be gracing the function.

The government will commemorate the leaders who have fought for our freedom and had taken a pledge for the holistic development of the nation at the August Kranti Maidan.

Many activities and contests will also be taking place as part of this initiative and CM will award the winners.
