HC tells Centre: Treat the Kashmiri protestors as your own

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court have asked the Centre to now treat protesters in the Valley as “their own” on Monday, and have also asked the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to further explain why most of the injured had been wounded just above the knees and in the eyes.

HC said that, these people are their own and not aliens, so treat them as your own as HC feels the Centre has not been treating them as their own.

The division bench, which comprised of Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, has said that, this is creating more problems for the state, as they use pellet guns because of which their own people suffer and they have to get doctors from outside.

Moreover, the government has asked the government to think about the use of these pellet guns in the light of the statement by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Also, regarding the CRPF IG Atul Karwal’s submission that the paramilitary personnel were fully trained and experienced to use the anti-riot equipment, the court has said it did not explain why people had suffered injuries and that too majorly above the knees and their eyes were damaged.
