Haryana girl Manushi crowned as Miss India 2017!

Manushi is on cloud nine after winning this title!


Dream has finally come true for beautiful Haryana girl Manushi. The 54th Femina Miss India World 2017 was held, at Yash Raj Film Studio, Mumbai and Manushi Chhillar from Haryana took the crown. The first runner-up is Sana Dua from Jammu and Kashmir and the second runner-up is Priyanka Kumari from Bihar.

In total there were 30 participants from different places like Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand who competed for the crown.

They all were mentored and trained by famous personalities Neha Dhupia, Waluscha De Sousa, Dipannita Sharma and Parvathy Omanakuttan. In the finale, top 6 finalists faced each other. The list included Shefali Sood, Sana Dua, Priyanka Kumari, Manushi Chhillar, Aishwarya Devan and Anukriti Gusain. They all wore elegant dresses designed by famous Indian Designer Manish Malhotra. This is the first time when the participants wore an Indian dress at the finale designed by Manish Malhotra.

Show was judged and hosted by famous personalities

The show was hosted by Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh and was judged by same big faces of fashion world and film industry. These included Arjun Rampal, Manish Malhotra, Illeana D’ Cruz, Bipasha Basu, Abhishek Kapoor, Vidyut Jammwal and Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle. The 2017 winner Manushi was crowned by Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle. Manushi studied at St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. Both her parents are doctors.

Winner was quoted saying, “The only thing I believe is certain in life is uncertainty and this is what is amazing about the pageant.”
The event was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Alia Bhatt, and Sonu Nigam.

The finale will be telecasted on the TV channel Colors on July 9 from 1 pm.
