Continuous prayers pour in for Jayalalitha’s speedy recovery:- Thousands of devotees gathered in the Chennai’s R.K. Nagar constituency to offer distinctive prayers for the speedy recovery of ill Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital.

Numerous supporters of Jayalalithaa who is one of the powerful politicians of the country, gathered outside the hospital and offered prayers to their local divinity.

Jayaram Jayalalitha, one of India’s most powerful and controversial politicians, was admitted to hospital on 22 September.

Initially, the doctors said the 68-year-old was receiving treatment for “fever and dehydration”, but later on the doctors said that she is on the “respiratory support” and is being administered antibiotics

Followers say

“The only reason for these special offerings is that our honorable chief minister should be back in good health. It is not only the AIADMK workers, it is the people here. You all can see,” said P. Vetrivel, a member of the regional All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Saraswathi (AIADMK) party.

On Tuesday, files of the unwell Chief Minister were transferred to the Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam.

Panneerselvam has served the state as an interim Chief Minister twice in year 2001 and 2014.

Earlier today, police in the Coimbatore city arrested two people for spreading rumours about the ill health state of the Chief Minister on the social media networking sites.

Jayalalithaa displays national political influence, with AIADMK holding the third highest number of seats in the Lok Sabha.

The fair-skinned CM Jayalalithaa acted in various movies before entering politics and has a huge fan following. She attached herself to millions by distributing free laptops, grinders and fans to voters.
