A Sikh saved girl’s life using his turban

A Canadian Sikh is being referred as a hero after he saved a teenager from drowning. He used his turban to pull her out of a frigid river.

The heroic person was Avtar Hothi who is a 65- year -old farmer from Kamloops who lives in British Columbia used his turban to save the teen who had fallen into the cold waters of North Thompson River close to his farm.

Hothi and his son Paul were working at their family farm in Heffley Creek last Saturday when they heard cried for help so they immediately rushed to riverbank to help the young woman who was struggling in the river.

Paul said,” We were trying to look around for branches, and he just sprung to action, took off his turban right away, threw it in the water and puller her to shore.”

The young woman was given a blanket as soon as she got out and was safely returned to his family and relatives.
