Winter Skincare: How to get Healthy Skin during Winters

Winter got your skin looking dry? Read below to get healthy skin following these winter skincare hacks!!

It’s no news that winters bring along a plethora of skin problems. We need to take special care of our skins, so they don’t get dry. The cold winter air tends to suck out all traces of moisture from our skin, which is just not healthy. While winter skin care is essential, it is also crucial that you don’t empty your pockets for it.

So listed here are a few tips so you can take care of your skin in a pocket-friendly way!

Take short showers

Long showers can wash away essential oils from your body. Avoid this to keep your skin from drying out. Stick to shorter and lukewarm showers when the weather starts to get colder.

Exfoliate

As the winds get chilly, it can lead to dryer skin. Dry skin makes your body work overtime to create more oil. This additional oil can cause clogged pores. Use an exfoliate to remove dry skin during winter.

Hydrate!

Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Beyond drinking water, you should invest in a moisturizer that protects and soothes your skin during the colder months.

Gentle cleansing is the way to go!

Cleansers that are too harsh on your skin can remove the necessary oils your body needs to protect itself. Use a cleaner that is gentle and won’t dry you out.

Show your lips some love!

Your lips are the only part of your skin that doesn’t have oil glands or pores. That makes them much more likely to dry out, especially in the colder fall months. Be sure to moisturize them regularly to keep them from drying out and cracking.

These were some dos for your winter skincare, but there are some don’ts.

DON’TS

Overkill

Because your skin is more prone to irritation during colder winter, it’s best to keep a simple routine. More cleansing, exfoliating, scrubbing, and washing can irritate your skin and cause extra dryness rather than moisturizing. Try to avoid doing differently in want of better results. Trust the process and be patient.

Overspend

Online and makeup stores are fun to browse, but you must remember that you don’t need all of them. Try out home remedies. They are healthier, without the added risk of chemicals and are super pocket friendly.

Overeat

We crave rich foods this time of year, but too much of a good thing can show up as clogged pores and breakouts. Too much oil and spices tend to overwork our sebaceous glands, which causes oily skin, which in turn causes dust and dirt to stick on our faces. And we all know that’s just an invitation to bacteria that will lead to acne. So, don’t overkill with fatty foods.

Undereat

Conversely, too few calories can leave you looking sallow and haggard. The body needs an appropriate amount of all nutrients. And the first sign of undernourishment can be seen on the skin.

Undersleep

Skimping on sleep results in puffy eyes, dark circles and ashy complexions – not a great look. Overuse of eyes and the skin around them causes them to lose moisture, and the skin, in turn, darkens. Additionally, your cranky mood due to lack of sleep will surely not gain you, friends. So try to sleep the appropriate amount to keep your skin healthy.

So, what are you waiting for? Follow these winter skincare tips and be ready for chill breezes! It is not only safe for your skin but for your pocket too.
