Leaders Highlight Support and Inclusion on World Disability Day

Prag Narayan Deaf School, located at Sasni Gate, Aligarh, celebrated World Disability Day with great enthusiasm and a spirit of inclusivity. The event aimed to highlight the capabilities, talents, and achievements of children with disabilities while promoting awareness and empathy within society. The school campus was filled with joy, colour, and heartfelt performances as students came together to showcase their potential.

Distinguished Guests Grace the Occasion

The ceremony was attended by several notable personalities, with Chief Guest Smt. Sunjeev Raja, MLA of Aligarh city, honouring the event with her presence. She is the wife of the late District Divyangjan Welfare Officer, Shri Rajesh Kumar.
Other distinguished attendees included Gobind Project Engineer Shri Anupam Gupta, Dr. Anand Agarwal, Surbhi Garg, members of the Kiwanians Club including Dr. Sudhanshu Garg, and Dr. Nalini Garg, along with many other respected guests and parents.

Encouraging Words from the MLA

Addressing the gathering, the MLA praised the students for their energetic cultural performances. She applauded their confidence, creativity, and dedication. Expressing commitment to supporting the school, she announced assistance in the form of sports kits, sound systems, mobile phones, tablets, and other necessary resources.
She also assured to resolve infrastructural issues such as repairing the damaged plaster on the upper wall and fixing the water tank to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment.

Kiwanians Club Extends Support

The Kiwanians Club of Aligarh played a vital role in the program’s success. Under the leadership of Club President Shri Mukul Verma, the club arranged sweets, refreshments, and prizes for all the children. Verma highlighted how such events boost the morale of specially-abled students and promote a spirit of inclusion and community support.

Vibrant Cultural Performances by Students

The event witnessed a series of colourful and inspiring performances by the students, including dance, singing, drama, and group presentations.
Participants such as Manav, Jigyasa, Mahi, Monika, Neha, Ishfaq, Saniya, Sonu, Raju, Bhumik, Tattvasya, Ehsan, Tini Chaudhary, Ayush, Bablu, Nirdesh, Vishal, Deepak Kumar, Aadil, Sonu Awasthi, Abhishek Kumar, Shivkumar, and Suryakumar displayed their exceptional talents, leaving the audience thrilled.
Each child was recognized for their hard work and rewarded with certificates, medals, and gift hampers.

Distribution of Aids and Devices

Adding further significance to the event, District Disability Welfare Officer Shri Rohit Kumar distributed 27 aids and assistive devices to the students on behalf of the MLA. These devices are expected to enhance mobility, communication, and day-to-day functioning for many children, empowering them in their educational journey.

Principal Expresses Gratitude

School Principal Shri Ramesh Lal Mathuria delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation towards all dignitaries, supporters, and participants. He emphasized the importance of proper training, quality education, and encouragement for the holistic development of children with disabilities.
He acknowledged the collective efforts of teachers, parents, and guests for making the event impactful and memorable.
