India To Face Pakistan In WCL Semifinal After Dominating West Indies

LEICESTERSHIRE, UK The scene is now set in a blockbuster semifinal on the World Championship of Legends (WCL)- in other words- India Champions booked their place in the foursome after escaping the scintillating win against West Indies Champions. The strong pursuit by India over its Caribbean opponents implies that they will now encounter arch rivals Pakistan Champions in a game that can only be described as one with a lot of tension on the 31 st July.

With a tight target of 145 runs to chase in 20 overs, India Champions were up against it in their last league contest knowing that if they lose, it will end their hopes to qualify to next round. But to make the semifinal before England based on Net Run Rate, India had to reach the target in under 14 overs.
The Indian batting line up stood up to the huge pressure. It was an overall team performance but the star of the day Stuart Binny himself had belted a quickfire unbeaten 51 runs off 21 deliveries as India reached the destination with only 13.2 overs on the clock. Yusuf Pathan too was used effectively in the final few overs with his cameo of 21 off 7 balls, as he hit a very important six and a four off Edwards in the 13 overs that went at 20 runsBLACK caps. The ultimate tally of the India Champions ended up in 148/5 within 13.2 overs.

The Rivalry Resumed: India vs Pakistan
The qualification has now secured India a date with its biggest nemesis, Pakistan, in the first semifinal at the WCL. This matchup is always a momentous occasion for cricket fans all to the world. As the sporting world gears up for this electrifying contest, it is important to note this political situation has led a sponsor, EaseMyTrip, to withdraw its sponsorship of the match due to what the co-founder has stated that “terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand.” The co-founder cited the recent events and a national sentiment that emphasizes the integrity of the national conscience over any sporting ties. When it is all said and done, the match may be happening outside of the reasonable political tensions from both nations, and the players will hope to entertain all and put in a special performance.

The other semifinal will take place the same day at 9:00 PM IST between South Africa Champions and Australia Champions. The winners of these matches will then meet in the final on August 2. Cricket followers globally are in for a treat with the knockout phase of the World Championship of Legends.
