Delhi Double Murder Case: House Help Confesses Killing Mother, Son With Knife
NEW DELHI: In a grisly turn of events that has shocked the residents of Lajpat Nagar in South-East Delhi to the core, a mother and her young son, aged 15 were murdered in their home, the former had her throat slit, while the boy had his neck slit open.

NEW DELHI: In a grisly turn of events that has shocked the residents of Lajpat Nagar in South-East Delhi to the core, a mother and her young son, aged 15 were murdered in their home, the former had her throat slit, while the boy had his neck slit open. The house help of this family has also been caught by the Delhi Police quickly and they have allegedly confessed to have committed the gruesome crime as there was an argument involved.
The identification of the victims was made known as Ruchika Sewani 42, andKrish her 14-year-old son. The horrible finding was at a later night of Wednesday when Ruchika was found dead inside her home, as her husband Kuldeep Sewani came home and found the door locked on her side. He tried to call his wife and son on the phone, but without any answer, as he saw bloodstains near the gate and on the staircase, he turned on to the police.
The police went to Lajpat Nagar-I residence after 9:43 PM when they received the PCR call. On several knockings receiving no reply, the officers forcibly forced the main gate where senior officials were present. They also met with a horrific scene on their entry to the inside: Ruchika was found dead in the bedroom, whereas Krish lay dead in the bathroom. The two victims were having deep injuries implying that they had been beaten by a sharp-edged object resulting in their throats slit. Forensic experts were immediately sent to the scene to gather important evidence, and CCTV images on the adjacent territory are scrutinised thoroughly and form part of the on-going investigation.
The main suspect, Mukesh, 24, who worked as a driver-helper at the garment shop owned by Ruchika and her husband, was apprehended within hours. Mukesh was originally from Hajipur in Bihar but was living in Amar Colony adjacent to his employers’ residence. Following a tip, police tracked down Mukesh who was arrested in the early morning hours of Thursday, from a train at Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction in Uttar Pradesh, and was allegedly trying to flee the city.

During initial questioning, Mukesh confessed to killing the mother and son. While the full reasons behind the motive are still under investigation, reports from police suggest that an argument with Ruchika Sewani led to the brutal killing of the pair. Police claim that Mukesh told them that Ruchika had “scolded him,” prompting him to go on a rampage.
This horrible incident has rocked Lajpat Nagar, a lively residential and commercial area. While the arrest and confession by the accused may offer immediate relief to the shocking crime, the investigation is ongoing to verify all details and the chain of events which lead to the senseless murder of the mother and son. Police are currently verifying Mukesh’s details and have also alerted other law enforcement.
