Fake news: A video has been shared widely showing a group of 5 ‘girls’ over a boy at Sonepur Mela, Bihar.

Foolproof: The viral claim is false. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the incident occurred at Vardhaman Chowk in Ludhiana, Punjab, during the Dussehra fair. The report states a dispute between transgender people regarding area distribution at the fair held at Vardhaman Chowk. Two groups argued over collecting money from people in the name of Dussehra, which later turned into a fight. The incident was reported to the police, after which the police reached the spot and pacified the transgenders.

‘Love Jihad’ conspiracy sparks again!

Kisne Feka: A video of a man apprehended by security forces interspersed with disturbing footage of a severely bleeding woman lying prostrate is going viral on social media. The video is shared with claims of the right-wing conspiracy theory ‘Love Jihad’ in the context of the Mehrauli murder case.

Truth dose: The viral video is unrelated to the claims of ‘Love Jihad’ and the Jabalpur Resort murder case. The incident in the video occurred in Barranquilla, Colombia, where an estranged couple was at a hearing at the House of Justice in the La Paz neighbourhood of the city. The Colombian man Jesús Salvador Tovar stabbed his ex-partner Sandra Milena Altamar Ojeda over her decision to sever ties with him.

Fake news: A video showing people embracing Islam has gone viral. An Islamic preacher can be seen reciting kalima, repeated by the people standing there. Social media users shared this video with the claim that many people converted to Islam during the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. Truth dose: The viral claim is misleading. The same video was on another YouTube channel dated March 11, 2018. In English, the caption reads, “Converting 60 Philipinos to Islam at Challenger Company in Al-Shahaniya in Doha, Qatar. Praise is to God, Lord of the Worlds.” It suggests that the viral video is not recent.

Rahul Gandhi Performed Aarti Wrong!

Kisne feka: The BJP’s IT cell head, Amit Malviya, circulated a video showing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi performing aarti at the Narmada Ghat in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh. The in-charge of BJP’s IT department circulated the video claiming that Rahul Gandhi performed the aarti wrong as the Earth rotates in a clockwise direction.

Foolproof: The viral claim is false. The video shows that the direction of the aarti performed by Gandhi is the correct way to perform the ritual. A tweet published on November 25, 2022, was uploaded on the verified Twitter handle of the Congress. In this video, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and the priest perform aarti in the same clockwise direction.
