Claim: news agency published a story stating that the CBI filed its first charge sheet against former union telecom minister A. Raja.

Fact check: The report regarding the charge sheet against A. Raja dates back to 2011. The news agency published the 2G Spectrum story based on a front-page advertorial that republished The Times of India’s front-page article of April 3, 2011.

Pak flag waved in Congress Bharat Jodo Yatra

Fake news: Pakistan’s national flag was waved during the congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kerala.

Foolproof: The flags seen in the video belong to the Indian Union Muslim League, a political party based in Kerala and not in Pakistan.

PFI protesters raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’!

Kisne Feka: PFI protesters in Pune raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.

Foolproof: Despite the claims, several videos of the incident from different angles show that the protesters were saying ‘Popular Front zindabad’. Slowing down the video 4 times and analysing what the protesters were saying indicated that they were the Popular Front of zindabad.

Fact check: The viral video has been available on the internet since September 2021 and has nothing to do with the PFI ban.

Gandhi & Nehru refused to represent Bhagat Singh in court

Fake news: Mahatma Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru refused to represent Bhagat Singh in court.

Foolproof: Bhagat Singh had declined to be represented by a lawyer. He did have a legal adviser, but the adviser was not permitted to cross-examine witnesses or address the court.

A scuffle between Hindu-Muslim over a cricket match!

Kisne Feka: Viral video shows a communal scuffle between Hindu and Muslim communities over a cricket match in London.

Fact check: The viral video is of an Iranian protest in London, which was in solidarity with the growing uprising in Iran demanding freedom and against the death of Mahsa Amini, who died in custody following her arrest by the country’s morality police. There is no angle of a Hindu-Muslim clash.

Temple was set ablaze in the UK by Muslims!

Fake news: A temple was set ablaze in Birmingham, the UK, by Muslims and Hindus were beaten up.

Foolproof: The fire broke out at Zeenat Supermarket in Birmingham and not at a Hindu temple, as claimed. As per reports, the fight occurred over a car parking disagreement unrelated to the fire.

Mohan Bhagwat called Rahul Gandhi a future leader!

Claim: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat called Rahul Gandhi a future leader.

Fact: A senior functionary of the RSS confirmed that the quiet was false and that Bhagwat never said anything like this.

Power theft notice given to mosques & madrasas!

Kisne Feka: Leading Hindi news organisations ran an article about power theft in UP. Four hundred mosques and madrasas in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur were given a notice for illegal electricity connections.

Fact: The notice was sent to 174 religious institutions, which included 59 temples and 115 temples, for using electricity without a registered connection.
