A First of its kind food festival in Delhi!


The people of Delhi NCR have been provided with an opportunity to relish an amazing spread of ethnic food right from the tribal heartlands of the country.


The Tribal Food Festival has been organized by TRIFED on behalf of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. In lieu of the event, Tribal People from all over the country have been invited to showcase and sell their various cuisines during the festival.

Not only did the dishes taste good, they looked good too

This is also a great opportunity for all the foodies to discover the delicious tribal flavors and to spice up their eating options.


The festival being held at the Rajiv Gandhi Handicrafts Bhawan, Baba Kharak Singh Marg.


Tribals from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamilnadu, Telangana, and Uttarakhand are offering various mouthwatering delicacies to the Foodies of Delhi.

Amazing Spices and Authentic Preparation made it a spectacular event

The aroma of the traditional spices and the colorful displays by the various states served to all the senses of the foodie. Most of all, the taste overwhelmed you with some dishes packing a punch with the spices, while the others made you relish the texture and the fragrance of the herbs.


Among the crowd favorites were the Wazwan Rogan Josh, Chattisgarhi Mahua, Chicken Momos, Naga pork sausages, Bajara Kichadi from Maharashtra, Oraon Chicken Biryani from Orissa, Bamboo Chicken from Andhra and many more.


On the occasion of the inauguration of the event, Shri Jual Oram, the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, said that the main objective of organizing this unique event is to introduce and create awareness on the varieties of ethnic Tribal Foods to the food lovers of Delhi with a view to providing additional source of income to the tribals.

Not only did the dishes taste good, they looked good too

“I love spicy food and being a Foodie, this was a place that I just could not miss. The food is excellent and is a must try for all the foodies out there.” Said Ani Bajaj, a tourist.


Overall, the food is reason alone to give it a try and the festival spirit makes this a must try for everyone.
