Latest updates from Techno Fest, here is all you need to know
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is currently celebrating its Platinum Jubilee. To make it bigger and to get more eyeballs, Techno fest has been organized at the 36th International Trade Fair.
The event is scheduled from 14th to 27th November. The technofest is going on in Hall no 12-A. It is a theme- based event and every day CSIR showcase a new theme.
On day four, the theme of the event was ‘Mining, Minerals and Materials’. A seminar was organized by CSIR to highlight the latest technologies used in the mining process across the nation. The seminar was attended by five distinguished laboratories of CSIR and its industrial partners.
Here are some important highlights from the event
- The seminar was kicked-off with the opening remarks of Dr. P.K Singh, Director, CSIR- Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research
- Mining Process in India has advanced with the changing time. And manual extraction of coal has been replaced by the machines gradually
- AK Singh one of the delegates said, “ There are several plants in pipeline to enhance the productivity of the thermal powerplants, which will boost the inflow of electricity across the nation
- Dr. M.R. Saharan from CSIR-CIMFR spoke about the art of explosions used in the mining process. He added, “Our expertise in blasting is highly efficient with no mess around”
- Dr. A.C.R. Das, Consultant, Ministry of Steel addressed the scientist and engineer, said that they look forward to encourage more entrepreneurs, institutes and organizations. He further added their website is also available, where proposals on Research and Development could be submitted.
Distinguished scientists from CSIR-CIMFR, CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IIMT) and CSIR-Advance Material and Process Research Institute also attended the seminar.
The day concluded with signing of MoU between CSIR-CGCRI and ONCG Energy Centre Trust (OECT). Some science-based activities were also conducted by CSIR-CBRI for the school students.
