Leading Indian Shuttler PV Sindhu overcame strong challenge from Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska to proceed to the second round of the women’s singles contest in the Indonesia Master Grand Prix.

Top seeded Sindhu, who claimed her third straight title in Macau Open last week, claimed 21-16, 19-21, and 21-12 victory over Mariska in a thrilling contest in the opening round match which lasted for 54 minutes.

At the same time, in the contest of mens singles Kidami Srikanth defeated Wibowo Setyaldi Putra with 21-6, 21-12 in the opening round match of Indonesia Masters Grand prix.
