The idea of Samanvay is to bring people from different languages and nationalities on a single platform and discuss, how we and language go hand in hand.

Samanvay- Language Festival

This is the fourth edition of Samanvay and this time the theme of the festival is Bhashantar Deshantar i.e. Translation-Transnation. It centralises the issue of those Indian languages which have a transnational presence. This year’s event will feature many eminent personalities which include 2 Padma Shri awardees, 11 Sahitya Kala winners and 3 National Film Award winners.

On the inaugurating night, the speakers talked about the revolutionary Bengali writer Late Nabarun Bhattacharya. One of his writings says that he “doesn’t bother if his writings are labelled as mediocre, his work will transpire something positive for society”.

The lecture was followed by sufi music, which the crowd enjoyed a lot.


The four day event was held at the India Habitat Centre from 6th to 9th of November.
