Saina Nehwal has won trump match against Delhi Acers to help his team Awadh warriors in the Premier Badminton League.
Warriors fought back from one point down to confirm the knot 4-3 and record its first win.
Saina, who had missed her team in the first match against Mumbai Rockets due to a foot injury, outplayed against P.C. Thulasi 15-9, 15-10 in the women’s singles — which was her team’s trump match — and put the Warriors 2-1 up.
Warriors required a win in the following two matches to confirm the knot. Cai Yun and Bodin Issara pipped out the pair of Koo Keat Kien and Tan Boon Heong with 15-12, 15-14 in an exciting men’s doubles match.
