Saina Nehwal, Indian shutler has been nominated for the Women player of the year award of badminton world federation.

Currently in world ranking, Saina is ranked at no. 2. For a brief period, she has occupied the world number 1 spot after consistent season.

For woman player of the year award, Carolina Marin of Spain, Zhao Yunlei of China and another Chinese Bao Yixin are also there in the list.

On 7th December at AL Badia golf club, the winners of BWF players of the year award will be announced at the players’ reception and gala dinner for the Dubai world super series finals.

Saina has maintained a consistent run this season and has become India’s first world number one in women’s single. She had won BWF world super series tour in home leg at Delhi and also reach to finals of BWF world championship, the All England and Thai hot China open.

Marin ended the year by winning the All England championship and Hong Kong open. She also picked up 3 other super series titles and retained the world championship title.
